This picture was taken July 2012 at the Toronto Zoo with a Canon EOS Rebel T3i. Focal length: 35mm, f/5.6.
  I take my pictures in raw format and convert to jpeg with Digital Photo Professional software that came with my Canon T3i camera.  To remove the colour from the pictures I used Adobe Photoshop CS5 software.  The photo must be in RGB colour mode to do this as CMYK will not work for replacing the colour after.  Your go to Adjustments and choose Desaturate to remove the colour.  Do not use the Grayscale mode as this will not work and you won't be able to restore the colour.  Now that the colour has been removed, use the History Brush Tool and adjust the brush size to suit. Magnify the picture so you can follow the outline of the subject you want to restore colour to and brush in the colour.  A short amount of practice and you will be making cool photos to frame.
The first photo I tried this on was the fruit in the bowl , restoring the colour to the orange and then the strawberry in another photo.

Reflection

Also taken July 2012, this picture from the Toronto Zoo was taken with a Canon EOS Rebel T3i.  Focal Length: 21 mm, f/3.5.  The water was smooth like a sheet of glass making it mirror perfect.  Can you see the bird?  I plan to go back this Spring or Summer to see the Panda Bears.

These picture were taken July 18th, 2018 while on an east coast tour in the town of Rustico on Prince Edward Island. The nest as you can see, was on a pole near the docks. Looks like the locals built the perch for the nesting.

Cleaning up my lawn in my back yard, I heard a knocking noise way up in a neighbors tree that had been pruned last summer.  I grabbed my camera to take pictures of this one.   

This may be a female Downy Woodpecker but I'm not sure.

Wild Baby Rabbit

Wild Baby Rabbit Has No Fear

On August 14th., This baby rabbit hopped out in front of me in my back yard and started to eat the grass.  Did not seem to mind that I was there and only 3 feet away.

 .

The little rabbit would not let me get any closer than the three feet and then hopped into the flower garden to eat some of those plants.  He or she stayed around for about 15 minutes or so before going under a gate between the houses.

    This was one of dozens of gulls in the neighbors yard after someone had put a bunch of old bread in their garden. This one is watching from the top of their old garage. It just snowed a bit this morning as you can see. Boy was it noisy. Sounded like I was on a beach.

Spiders Around My House

It has been a bad year for lots of spiders around my house, both inside and outside, in the garden, on the deck, everywhere.  These bigger ones are on the deck and garden plants.  I looked this type up and found out their bite can make you quite sick for days and here I am poking them with my finger.

  When I started to take these pictures, this female spider ran up her web to the top of the deck railing.  Normally they hang upside down on their web.

  A face only a mother could love.  She had her round web between my barbecue and the railing. 

  This picture was taken when she was still on her web.  I read on the internet that the dots on the underside of the abdomen form a cross and there it is.

  Same type of spider but this one was on a web covered in aphids.  It was between a Korean Lilac bush and a fence in my yard.  This lady was in the middle of her web upside down just like the book said.

  Same one from the other side of the fence.  This type of spider originated in Europe but has been in this country for a long time now.  The spiders don't bother me, the webs drive me crazy as they get in your face, hair, arms and clothing.  Every time you go out on the porch or deck in the morning, the webs are stretched from one end to the other.  Those webs are from a different type of spider, not the ones in these pictures.  

I found this picture I had taken September 2013.  Same type of spider.  Must be a relative of this years pictures.
